Sanke
A Sanke (Taisho Sanshoku) is a three-colored fish, with the Kohaku as a base, with the addition of black (sumi) markings. As a background for the sumi (black) and hi (red), the white (shiro) is most important as a background. As for the Kohaku, the hi should be uniform and give the impression of great depth. The sumi should be shiny in appearance. When showing Sanke, great importance is given to the placement of the sumi. When picking out a prospect, it is said that a good Sanke has a good Kohaku pattern. It is also said to “bank on the hi and hope for the sumi”, hoping that the sumi will develop in interesting ways. |
